Placements24 invites a Geotechnical Engineer to join the George team, supporting mining projects across the Western Cape. You will assess ground stability, design excavation support, and mitigate geotechnical risks for underground and surface works in a hybrid role.

Requirements include a Master’s in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering and 5+ years in mining or civil fields; proficiency with RocScience/FLAC; strong rock and soil mechanics knowledge; and solid reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant mining or civil experience.
• Proficiency in RocScience/FLAC and strong reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations and analyses for mining sites.
• Design ground support systems and slope stabilization measures.
• Monitor site conditions using instrumentation and data analysis.
• Provide expert guidance on geotechnical risks to project teams.
• Develop and review geotechnical models for regulatory submissions.
