Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer with mining focus to assess ground conditions and design support systems for underground and open-pit operations.

You will collaborate with mine planners and geologists to deliver geotechnical input throughout the project lifecycle, mitigating geological risks and ensuring structural integrity in mining projects. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Mining Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of geotechnical mining experience.
• Proficiency in RocScience/GeoStudio and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geotechnical investigations including site assessments and lab testing.
• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to assess slope stability and excavation support needs.
• Design and implement ground support systems for underground mines and open pits.
• Develop geotechnical risk assessments and mitigation strategies for mining projects.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site operations and project teams.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations based on findings.
