About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded luxury hotel located in the vibrant city of Bloemfontein , is seeking an experienced and dedicated Hotel Operations Manager. This critical role involves overseeing the day-to-day management of all hotel operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction across various departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and operational efficiency. This is an on-site position essential for effective leadership and management within the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the operations of Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, and other hotel departments.
• Ensure all guest services and operations are carried out to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and guest experience.
• Manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost control and revenue maximization.
• Oversee staff recruitment, training, motivation, and performance management.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and effectively.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to ensure they meet standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
• Collaborate with other department heads to ensure smooth inter-departmental coordination.
• Monitor industry trends and implement best practices to enhance hotel operations.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and legal regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in hotel management, with at least 3 years in a senior operational role.
• Proven experience managing multiple hotel departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and F&B.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations, standards, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and POS systems.
• Demonstrated ability to control costs and manage budgets effectively.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest service and ensuring operational excellence.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
