The role requires 5+ years in F&B management, strong menu and beverage knowledge, inventory control, and staff development. You will work with the Executive Chef and department heads to maintain high standards and guest satisfaction.

• Proven track record of managing high-volume F&B operations and achieving financial targets.
• Strong knowledge of menu engineering, beverage management, and inventory control.

About the Role

Our client, a renowned coastal resort in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Food & Beverage Manager. This exciting opportunity requires a leader with a passion for culinary excellence and a proven ability to manage all aspects of a high-volume food and beverage operation. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple outlets, including restaurants, bars, and banqueting facilities, ensuring exceptional service quality, operational efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate possesses strong financial acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of menu development, inventory management, and staff training. This role is crucial to the resort's success, directly impacting guest satisfaction and revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day operations of the food and beverage department, including restaurants, bars, and room service.
• Develop and implement innovative menus and beverage programs.
• Oversee inventory management, procurement, and cost control to maximize profitability.
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food and beverage products and exceptional guest service.
• Train, motivate, and manage the F&B team, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Develop and manage the department's budget, monitoring financial performance closely.
• Implement and maintain high standards of hygiene, health, and safety protocols.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other department heads to ensure seamless operations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and implement best practices.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a resort or hotel setting.
• Proven track record of managing high-volume F&B operations and achieving financial targets.
• Strong knowledge of culinary trends, menu engineering, and beverage management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in F&B management software and POS systems.
• Experience in inventory control, cost management, and budgeting.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
• A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts is desirable.
• Must be fluent in English; local language proficiency is an advantage.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa and reside in or be willing to relocate to Mossel Bay.
