About the Role

Our client, a premier leisure resort situated in the scenic city of George, Western Cape , is seeking a highly skilled and creative Food & Beverage Director. This executive role is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the resort's diverse food and beverage operations, including multiple restaurants, bars, banqueting, and in-room dining. The ideal candidate will possess a refined palate, a deep understanding of culinary trends, exceptional financial acumen, and a passion for delivering world-class dining experiences to guests. You will be instrumental in driving innovation, maintaining impeccable service standards, and achieving profitability targets within this beautiful coastal destination.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the strategic direction and daily operations of all food and beverage outlets within the resort. Develop and execute innovative menus, specials, and beverage programs that align with the resort's brand and target market. Manage all aspects of F&B costs, including inventory control, procurement, labor management, and budget adherence. Lead, train, and develop the F&B team, fostering a culture of exceptional service, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Monitor guest feedback and implement strategies to enhance dining experiences and resolve any issues. Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu engineering and culinary excellence. Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms. Plan and execute successful banquets, conferences, and special events. Drive revenue growth and profitability for all F&B operations in George .

Requirements

A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in food and beverage management, with at least 4 years in a director-level role, preferably within a resort or high-end hotel environment. Proven experience in managing multiple food and beverage outlets and large-scale banqueting operations. Demonstrated expertise in culinary arts, menu development, and beverage management. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field is essential. Experience in the Western Cape tourism sector is a significant advantage. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment and maintain high standards. Proficiency in relevant F&B management software and POS systems.
