Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician for Bloemfontein to install, maintain and repair broadband internet for residential and business customers. This hands-on role requires working independently in the field and delivering excellent service while adhering to safety standards.

You will install modems and routers, test fibre connections, educate customers, record service details, and coordinate with other technical teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics or related field is advantageous.
• Previous field service experience in telecommunications or IT support.
• Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting residential broadband, Wi‑Fi, and networking equipment.
• Familiarity with fibre optic cable installation and termination is a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair broadband internet equipment, including modems, routers, and fibre optic connections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics or a related field is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a field service role, particularly in telecommunications or IT support.
• Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting residential broadband, Wi‑Fi, and networking equipment.
• Familiarity with fibre optic cable installation and termination is a strong asset.
• Strong understanding of basic electrical principles and safety procedures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adhere to schedules.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, crawl in confined spaces, and lift up to 25kg.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
• Experience working in Bloemfontein and surrounding areas within the Free State province is preferred.
