Job summary

Army NAF seeks a dedicated leader to oversee Child and Youth Services (CYS) programs for children from 6 weeks to 18 years. You will guide staff, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and ensure safety and health standards across all program areas.

The role requires coordinating schedules, delivering age-appropriate lessons, and maintaining compliance with immunization and safety requirements while supporting a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
• Minimum 18 months experience in group programs with children/youth; knowledge of child development theories.
• DoW standardized training, CDA/MSA credential, or equivalent education as required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required and must be kept current.

Responsibilities

• Lead a program staff to provide developmental care for children aged 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Ensure developmentally appropriate programs promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
• Instruct staff, provide written instructions, reference materials, and supplies.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational lessons and activities based on observed needs.
• Ensure health and safety standards for diapering, toileting, hand washing, cleaning, food service, safe sleep, and illness care.
