Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a Site Supervisor for the Y BASE program to guide before- and after-school care and transition to summer camp programming. You will lead staff, ensure safety and quality of activities, and collaborate with local schools to align with district policies.

The role includes supervising day-to-day operations, managing materials, and building positive relationships with families and children.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
• Must meet all Child Care Licensing requirements including 2 DCF-approved courses in early childhood education or the school-age equivalent; 48 credits in higher education with at least 3 credits in ECE or school-age growth and development; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education; a Child Development Associate credential; or otherwise qualified as a School-Age Program Leader.
• Minimum of 240 hours of related experience working with early childhood or school-aged children in an approved setting.
• Must be able and willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, Mandated Reporter, Wisconsin Child Care Registry certification within a specified time frame.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and actively participate in daily activities for youth before and after school.
• Serve as a role model to staff and participants and act as the on-site supervisor of the Y BASE staff and camp programs when applicable.
• During the summer months will be assigned a leadership role for day camp.
• Manage all materials and supplies needed for planned activities and maintain quality of supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children while providing motivational support and guidance, including parent conferences and handling complaints with courtesy.
• Build a professional collaboration with local school district administration and staff to align programming with district values, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain participant records and other documentation according to department requirements.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
• Follow emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all children and communicate with supervisor about any emergency concerns.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
