Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a School Age and Camp Assistant Director to implement high-quality Before and After School and Camp programs at multiple sites in the Wauwatosa area. This role supports Y youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility by delivering engaging activities in a safe, inclusive environment.

You will supervise Y BASE staff, coordinate lesson plans, collaborate with local schools, and communicate weekly with families.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age and have 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
• Must meet Wisconsin Child Care Licensing requirements (DCF-approved courses or credentials or Wisconsin Registry).
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one-year related experience with school-aged children and in a camp setting.
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, Mandated Reporter training and Wisconsin Registry certification.

Responsibilities

• Directly serve in before and after school programming during the school year and act as onsite camp leadership in the summer.
• Provide direct service for offsite program activities meeting community needs and YMCA objectives.
• Supervise Y BASE staff and camp programs; maintain lesson plans and activities.
• Collaborate with Directors to develop weekly newsletters and family communications.
• Build relationships with local school districts to align programming with policies and procedures.
• Monitor daily operations to comply with state, local, and YMCA safety regulations.
