Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County in Greenfield, WI is seeking a part-time Y BASE Instructor to coordinate daily activities for before- and after-school programs, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.

You will implement developmentally appropriate activities, engage youth, and monitor safety while coordinating with staff and families. CPR/First Aid and licensing trainings are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Must meet licensing requirements including completion of a school-age growth and development course within 2 months of hire.
• Must be able and willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, SIDS (if applicable), Mandated Reporter, and Wisconsin Child Care Registry certifications.
• Prior experience in a licensed early learning program is preferred.
• Must have ability to relate to diverse populations and to communicate effectively with staff, families, and children.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and engage youth before and after school.
• Serve as a role model to staff and participants.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children and provide supportive guidance.
• Maintain participant records and other required documentation.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
• Follow emergency procedures and communicate any concerns to supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Uphold core YMCA values in all interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
