Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a part-time Before and After School Care (Y BASE) Instructor at West Suburban YMCA in Wauwatosa, WI. You will coordinate daily activities, provide a safe and nurturing environment for school-aged children, and follow developmentally appropriate lesson plans.

Responsibilities include engaging students, maintaining records, ensuring safety, and upholding YMCA core values while meeting licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Must meet school age licensing requirements including a school-age growth and development course within 2 months of hire.
• Must be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, and Wisconsin Child Care Registry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities for before/after school programs.
• Serve as a role model to staff and participants.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children; provide supportive guidance.
• Maintain participant records and documentation as required.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
• Follow emergency procedures and YMCA policies; uphold core values.
