Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is seeking a Program Supervisor for Year Round Youth Development Programs to lead before/after school and summer day camp staff. You will ensure high-quality activities, supervise staff and volunteers, and maintain safe, engaging classrooms at multiple elementary sites.

The role starts in late summer and requires coordinating with families, school staff, and the community while managing schedules and budgets. A strong commitment to youth development is essential.

Qualifications

• Three years or more of experience working with children, camps, childcare, tutoring or nannying.
• One year or more of supervisory experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Have completed 30 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty.
• Experience planning and implementing group activities.
• Pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination requirement.

Responsibilities

• Ensures planning and implementation of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum.
• Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates child care site staff/volunteers; maintains staff ratios and conducts trainings.
• Communicates with families and school personnel; prepares newsletters and parent conferences.
• Maintains records and adheres to safety and emergency procedures.
• Maintains relationships with the community and partners with schools for onsite operations.
• Supervises a group of children and ensures health and safety.
• Recruits new enrollments and manages site budget and supplies.
