Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a part-time Before and After School Care (Y BASE) Instructor for the Southwest YMCA in Greenfield, WI. You will coordinate daily activities and provide a safe, nurturing environment for school-aged children before and after school.

Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, serving as a role model, maintaining records, ensuring safety, and collaborating with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Must meet school age licensing requirements including one course in school-age growth and development within 2 months of hire.
• Must be able and willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, SIDS (if applicable), Mandated Reporter, Wisconsin Child Care Registry certification, and additional non-credit coursework.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and participate in daily activities for youth before and after school.
• Serve as a role model to staff and Y BASE participants.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children; provide caring interactions and prompt service.
• Maintain participant records and documentation per department requirements.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
• Follow emergency procedures to ensure safety of all children.
