Job summary

The YMCA of Catawba Valley in Morganton, NC is seeking a School Age Program Coordinator to manage the before/after/summer program, coordinate activities, support staff, and ensure grant-driven initiatives are implemented effectively.

You will supervise staff, ensure licensing compliance, monitor attendance and behavior, and collaborate with the Associate Regional Programming Director to address issues and improve service delivery.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in education or related field with relevant credentials.
• Experience coordinating youth programs and grant-funded initiatives preferred.
• Strong understanding of licensing, safety, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of before/after/summer program with compliant activities.
• Coordinate events, schedule sessions, and ensure alignment with grant objectives.
• Provide guidance and support to group leaders; recruit, train, and evaluate staff.
• Supervise children, enforce rules, and manage safety and behavior proactively.
• Engage participants, monitor attendance and progress, and communicate with families.
• Maintain grant reporting, attendance records, and program records; ensure budgeting and materials.
• Build community relationships and support fundraising efforts; represent YMCA program.
