Job summary

The Catawba Valley YMCA is hiring a School Age Program Coordinator to manage before/after/summer programs, ensuring smooth operations and grant compliance. You will lead program staff, coordinate activities, monitor attendance and safety, and report on outcomes.

Required: an associate degree in education or related field, 2+ years of experience, and strong organizational and communication skills. This role offers opportunities for staff development and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Education or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years in program coordination or youth development.
• Experience with grant-funded programs and compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the before/after/summer program, ensuring smooth execution of activities.
• Coordinate and schedule program events, activities, and sessions.
• Ensure activities align with grant objectives and organizational goals; comply with licensing and sanitation rules.
• Provide guidance and support to group leaders; assist with recruitment, training, and evaluation.
• Supervise children to ensure safety; enforce program rules; address behavioral issues promptly.
• Develop and implement strategies to engage program participants and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on activities, outcomes, and compliance.
