Job summary

The YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking aGroup Leader to lead before/after school and summer programs. You will plan engaging activities, supervise children, and collaborate with staff to create a safe, inclusive environment that supports growth and learning.

You will partner with the program coordinator to track participation, communicate progress, and mentor newer staff while upholding YMCA policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EDU 119 preferred, BSAC.
• Prior experience working with children in a group setting preferred.
• Knowledge of child development principles and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children.
• Supervise children at all times to ensure safety.
• Communicate regularly with the program coordinator about participation and progress.
• Support and mentor new or less experienced staff members.
• Maintain attendance and incident records.
