Job summary

The YMCA in Morganton, NC is seeking a School Age Program Coordinator to oversee the before, after, and summer programs, ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance with grant objectives. You will lead staff, coordinate activities, monitor attendance, and maintain licensing standards while working with the Associate Regional Programming Director to address issues and improve delivery.

This role focuses on engaging children and families, reporting outcomes, and supporting program growth

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Education, Youth Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination or management, preferably in a youth development or educational setting.
• Experience with grant-funded programs and compliance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of before/after/summer program; schedule activities and sessions.
• Guide and support group leaders; assist with recruitment, training, and evaluations.
• Supervise children to ensure safety and enforce program rules and procedures.
• Develop engagement strategies and monitor attendance, behavior, and progress.
• Ensure operations comply with grant requirements and report regularly to leadership.
