Job summary

Ymca is seeking a School Age Program Coordinator to manage daily operations of the before, after, and summer program, ensuring grant objectives, licensing compliance, and a safe environment for participants.

The role emphasizes staff support, training, supervision, participant engagement, and reporting to the Associate Regional Programming Director. It offers opportunities to lead program development within a YMCA setting in North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Education, Youth Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred; EDU 119 and BSAC required.
• Understanding of youth development principles and grant requirements.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the before/after/summer program; ensure smooth execution of activities.
• Coordinate and schedule program events, activities, and sessions.
• Ensure activities align with grant objectives and licensing/sanitation rules.
• Provide guidance and support to group leaders; recruit, train, and evaluate staff.
• Supervise children; enforce program rules; address behavioral issues promptly.
• Monitor attendance, behavior, and progress; communicate with parents/guardians.
• Prepare reports on activities, outcomes, and compliance; maintain records.
• Develop and implement curriculum and activities; evaluate and improve programs.
