Job summary

YMCA in Morganton, NC is seeking a Group Leader to supervise children in before/after school and summer programs. You will plan and implement engaging activities, ensure safety, and collaborate with staff and parents to support children's development.

The role focuses on building positive relationships, maintaining records, and supporting daily program operations with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of child development principles and safety.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children.
• Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being.
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention and boundaries.
• Build positive relationships with children and provide individualized support as needed.
• Communicate regularly with the program coordinator regarding participation and progress.
