Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston in Katy, TX seeks an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age program, keeping children safe, engaged, and supported daily.

You will oversee daily operations, implement YMCA curriculum, ensure licensing compliance, and foster partnerships with families, schools, and YMCA staff. This part-time role includes opportunities to grow the program and deliver high-quality youth development.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development.
• Two college courses ≈100 clock hours.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe with attentive supervision and proper attendance records.
• Site management as designated Texas Childcare Licensing Site Director; oversee daily operations and upkeep.
• Ensure safety, accurate records, and compliant activities.
• Apply positive behavior management to foster a respectful environment.
• Conduct regular safety drills and ensure licensing compliance and postings.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Communicate with parents about progress, concerns, and safety.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Develop strategies for program growth and enrollment retention.
• Lead program quality improvements and evaluate youth participation.
