Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks an Afterschool Site Lead in Katy, TX to manage a licensed school-age enrichment program, ensuring safety, engagement, and high-quality delivery. You will coordinate daily operations, implement the YMCA curriculum, maintain licensing compliance, and build strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA staff.

Part-time hours align with before/after school schedules.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development or management.
• At least one year of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Pass state and FBI background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and health screenings per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Keep Children Safe: maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment with proper supervision and attendance records.
• Site Management: oversee daily operations and licensing compliance.
• Supervision and Safety: ensure safety and accurate records for all children and staff.
• Behavior Management: apply positive behavior strategies.
• Program & Policy Compliance: follow licensing and organizational policies and maintain clean, safe spaces.
• Program Planning and Implementation: oversee age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Parent and Community Engagement: communicate with families and partners professionally.
• Administrative Duties: maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention: develop strategies to boost enrollment and satisfaction.
• Program Quality: implement lesson plans and center activities per standards.
• Program Evaluation: monitor participation and adjust programs as needed.
• Child Abuse Prevention: follow reporting requirements and ensure safety.
