The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to direct a licensed school-age program in Katy, TX. You’ll ensure safety, supervise staff, implement the YMCA curriculum, and build strong relationships with families and school partners.

Part-time hours align with school calendars, with before/after school shifts and occasional weekends. This role emphasizes youth development, safety, program quality, and compliant operations across licensing standards.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; 70 clock hours of training in child or youth development, recreational leadership or management; two college courses equal 100 clock hours.
• At least one year of experience working with youth in a licensed childcare facility, school, church, or similar setting
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities and programming
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Ability to pass state and local background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements
• Current TB test and any required health screenings or immunizations per state and local regulations

Responsabilités

• Keep Children Safe: Create and maintain a safe environment with proper supervision, headcounts, attendance records, and emergency responsiveness.
• Site Management: Oversee daily operations of the afterschool program, ensure licensing compliance and maintain site and equipment.
• Supervision and Safety: Maintain records, monitor activities, and respond to emergencies following YMCA policies.
• Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior management to promote a respectful environment.
• Program & Policy Compliance: Conduct safety drills, ensure postings, and follow health, safety, and confidentiality policies.
• Program Planning and Implementation: Oversee age-appropriate activities, adapt to diverse needs, evaluate effectiveness.
• Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate with parents, address inquiries professionally.
• Administrative Duties: Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Program Growth and Retention: Develop strategies to promote enrollment and retention.
• Program Quality: Plan and implement curriculum-guided activities.
• Program Evaluation: Lead Youth Program Quality interventions and monitor participation.
• Child Abuse Prevention: Report concerns and adhere to mandated reporting requirements
