YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader for our before/after-school and day camp programs. You will create a safe, engaging environment where youth feel valued, learn, and grow, while building strong relationships with families and staff.

The role emphasizes safety, positive behavior support, and leadership in activities aligned with YMCA values. Part-time schedule with afterschool and day camp shifts, including some weekends.

Qualifikationen

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Aufgaben

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment where youth feel supported and excited to learn.
• Monitor activities, conduct headcounts, and respond to situations using YMCA policies.
• Lead activities and ensure inclusion and positive behavior management.
• Model YMCA values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Help maintain a clean, organized program space meeting standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team.
