Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after-school and day camp programs. You’ll create a safe, engaging environment where kids learn, play, and grow, building relationships with families and staff.

You’ll lead activities, reinforce YMCA values, and ensure safety and supervision per state licensing. This role is part-time with varied afternoon hours and weekend shifts, offering meaningful community impact and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth in before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Lead activities, monitor safety, and apply YMCA policies and training.
• Build positive relationships with families and staff and maintain licensing standards.
