Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring Youth Development Leaders for before/after school and day camp programs in the Humble area. You will help create a safe, engaging environment for youth, lead age‑appropriate activities, and support families and school partners.

A strong focus on safety, inclusion, and positive youth development is essential. This role offers part‑time scheduling, with shifts aligned to ISD calendars and occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Able to pass background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and required immunizations per local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support before/after‑school and day camp activities.
• Create a safe, engaging environment and maintain supervision.
• Follow YMCA policies and training for safety and program quality.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Help maintain a clean, organized program space and meet licensing standards.
• Support daily operations and participate in trainings and staff meetings.
