Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after-school and day camp programs. You’ll help create a safe, engaging environment where youth feel valued and eager to learn.

You’ll lead fun, age-appropriate activities, supervise groups, and uphold YMCA policies. This part-time role offers meaningful interaction with children, families, and a committed team in a dynamic community setting.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging environment for before/after-school and day camp programs.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and adapt to diverse youth needs.
• Maintain supervision, sign-in/out procedures, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with families, school staff, and YMCA team to support students.
