Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to supervise and guide before/after-school and day camp programs. You will help create a safe, engaging space where youth feel valued and motivated to learn, while building strong connections with families and staff.

You'll lead activities, uphold safety standards, and model YMCA values in a dynamic, community-focused environment. This role offers part-time to full-day options and opportunities for growth within youth programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months of experience with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, engaging program space and supervise youth at all times.
• Lead and adapt age-appropriate activities within YMCA curricula.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and team.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
