Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Director to oversee afterschool and outdoor day camp programs in the Greater Houston area, including The Woodlands. You will lead, evaluate, and enhance youth-centered programming while ensuring safety, compliance, and high-quality experiences for families and communities.

The role requires directing staff, managing budgets, and collaborating with districts and centers to promote program growth and fidelity to the Y model.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in licensed childcare, including 2 years supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
• Must meet Director qualifications as stated in the Minimum Standards (#744.1015).
• At least 21 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention trainings.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• TB documentation or local health requirements as applicable.
• Available for trainings on occasional weekends and after hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of high-quality youth development programs in afterschool and day camp settings.
• Ensure compliance with state/local regulations and program standards.
• Recruit, hire, and train staff to meet licensing and staffing ratios.
• Manage site budgets, payroll, and fiscal goals.
• Develop and implement program activities; monitor quality and safety.
