Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Site Director to lead the afterschool program, directing curriculum, safety, and staff. The role focuses on youth development aligned with YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.

You will monitor behavior, oversee daily operations, and ensure licensing compliance. The position emphasizes program planning, parent communication, and maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED and 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development or related field.
  • Two college courses can substitute for 100 clock hours of training.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required or maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee site operations for afterschool program in compliance with YMCA and Texas regulations.
  • Maintain safety and well‑being of children; monitor behavior and ensure age‑appropriate activities.
  • Lead program planning and implementation per YMCA curriculum and quality standards.
  • Supervise and support staff; ensure accurate attendance and records.
  • Communicate with parents about child progress and concerns.
  • Ensure health, safety, and confidentiality policies are followed.
  • Maintain enrollment and attendance records and oversee program facilities.
  • Develop strategies to promote program growth and retention.
