Job summary

Auburn University Montgomery is seeking a student employee to support the Career Development Center and Advancement teams. The role involves assisting with alumni communications, donor acknowledgments, and coordinating outreach, while gaining hands-on office experience in a campus setting.

You will handle data entry, document preparation in Word/PowerPoint/Excel, and help with event-related financial processes, under supervision of the Development staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate or undergraduate student with at least one semester of office experience and 60 credit hours completed.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience creating and editing documents in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support alumni relations and development efforts through financial and administrative processes; coordinate alumni and donor communications and engagement initiatives.
  • Process finance-related documents for the department, including dues, event revenue, expenses, and gift allocations.
  • Assist Development team with thank you letters for donors and coordinating alumni visits via phone and email.
  • Assist with scheduling marketing emails through an email platform (Constant Contact): monthly birthday emails, membership renewals, and vehicle tag renewals.
  • Support the Advancement team with P-card reconciliation and research opportunities for program enhancements.

Responsibilities
  • Support alumni relations and development efforts through financial and administrative processes; coordinate alumni and donor communications and engagement initiatives.
  • Process finance-related documents for the department, including: alumni membership dues, event revenue, event expenses, and gift allocations.
  • Assist Development team with: prepping and writing thank you letters to ensure high-quality stewardship of donors; coordinating alumni visits for the Major Senior Gifts Officer via phone and email outreach to prospective donors; managing print and mailing of monthly birthday cards.
  • Assist with and manage marketing email schedule through an email platform (Constant Contact): monthly birthday emails to all alumni; membership renewal reminders to Alumni Association members; car tag renewals for AUM car tag holders.
  • As time permits, assist the Advancement team with: P-card reconciliation; researching and proposing alumni association program advancements; identifying alumni with significant achievements and coordinating outreach and engagement; additional requests as needed.
Qualifications

Prefer a graduate student or undergraduate student with at least one semester of office experience and 60 credit hours completed.

This position requires the ability to exercise good judgment and excellent oral and written communication skills. Office experience is preferred.
