Job summary

Walbridge is seeking an IT Technician to provide hands-on support at the project site, ensuring smooth operation of Windows-based systems and hardware. The role involves deploying desktops and laptops, provisioning workstations, and assisting with new technologies.

You will travel as needed and train in Detroit, MI for 4–6 weeks. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in IT support within a Windows environment, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong ticketing documentation skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus technical training or experience.
• 3+ years IT support in a Windows environment via phone/remote tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows OS.
• Experience documenting all work in the ticketing system.
• Ability to transfer user data to new laptops.
• Understanding of hardware specs and general networking.
• Able to work beyond 40 hours weekly.
• Willingness to travel out of state and stay overnight.
• Able to train in Detroit, MI for 4–6 weeks.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Windows 11 Support - Tier 1/2 troubleshooting and user assistance.
• Hardware & Software Deployment - configure and deploy desktops, laptops, peripherals.
• Onboarding & Workstation Setup - prepare workstations for new hires.
• New Technology Support & Adoption - assist with pilot deployments and tools.
• Network Support - assist with VPN access and wired/wireless configs.
• IT Recommendations & Asset Planning - suggest hardware/software/IT services.
• User Training & Support - deliver end-user training and guidance.
