Job summary

Walbridge is seeking an IT Technician to provide hands-on technical support at the project site, focusing on Windows-based systems and hardware. You will learn and grow while delivering end-user support and facilitating deployments.

Responsibilities include desktop provisioning, software deployment, and basic networking, with required travel and potential relocation. Training in Detroit, Michigan is required for 4–6 weeks.

Qualifications

• Completed a high school diploma or equivalent and technical training or professional experience.
• 3+ years of commercial IT support experience in a Windows environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows OS.
• Experience documenting work in a ticketing system.
• Data transfer to new laptops and hardware deployment knowledge.
• Solid understanding of hardware specs and basic networking.
• Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Windows 11 Tier 1/2 support, troubleshooting OS issues and user assistance.
• Stage, configure, and deploy desktops, laptops, and peripherals; install standard business apps.
• Prepare and provision user workstations for new hires with account setup and config.
• Assist with evaluating and adopting new technologies and pilot deployments.
• Support basic network setup, VPN access, and wired/wireless configurations.
• Research and recommend hardware, software, and IT services to improve efficiency and security.
• Deliver end-user training and guidance to boost productivity and reduce incidents.
