Job summary

Walbridge is seeking an IT Technician to deliver on-site Windows support, hardware deployment, and end-user assistance at project locations in Michigan. You will configure desktops, laptops, and peripherals, and ensure new hires are ready for day one.

The role requires 3+ years in Windows IT support, strong documentation, and the ability to travel out of state. There is a 4–6 week training period in Detroit, MI, with physical lifting expected in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical training or professional experience.
• Minimum 3+ years in IT support for Windows environments, via phone and remote tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows OS.
• Experience documenting all work in a ticketing system.
• Ability to transfer user data to new laptops.
• Strong hardware knowledge and basic network understanding.
• Able to multi-task under deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to learn new skills quickly and adapt.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Willing to travel out of state and stay overnight as needed.
• Onboarding includes 4–6 weeks of training in Detroit, MI.

Responsibilities

• Windows 11 support and Tier 1/2 troubleshooting.
• Deploy desktops, laptops, and peripherals; install business apps.
• Set up workstations for new hires, including accounts.
• Support new technologies and pilot deployments.
• Assist with basic network setup and VPN access.
• Research and recommend hardware, software, and IT services.
• Provide end-user training and guidance to boost productivity.
