Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a driven sales professional with a technical background to own direct sales in the Western United States (CO, UT, WY, MT, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, AZ).

You will identify opportunities, build relationships, demonstrate hardware and software, and close deals under the direction of the Director of Sales & Business Development. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science, about 5 years in field engineering or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science; relevant experience considered.
• 5 years of progressive field engineering/sales experience.
• Experience in data acquisition, embedded control, test and measurement, or closely related field.
• Travel requirement: 60%.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S. and be authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct sales for the Western United States territory.
• Demonstrate hardware and software technologies to potential customers.
• Submit monthly sales forecasts and use CRM for opportunities in all stages.
• Drive performance in the territory and identify new opportunities.
• Foster a system integrator program in the territory.
• Forecast and evaluate sales drivers and identify additional opportunities.
• Plan weekly travel to maximize face time with customers.
• Utilize CRM to document sales processes and schedule follow-ups.
• Submit weekly sales activity reports and participate in weekly sales calls.
• Collaborate with Applications, Marketing and Engineering to close sales.
