Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking a Welding Engineer in Caledonia, MI to develop and qualify welding procedures and provide technical support on the manufacturing floor. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of welding processes experience (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME IX).
• Experience developing and qualifying Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and PQR.
• Root-cause analysis and corrective actions for welding defects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) per codes and specs.
• Provide technical support for welding processes and equipment on the floor.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate welding equipment, consumables, and automation for projects and improvements.
• Perform welder qualification testing and maintain certification records.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure weldability and optimized joints.
• Implement and manage welding quality control plans including inspection and testing.
