Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Hudsonville, MI is seeking a Welding Engineer to lead welding operations for manufacturer partners. You will develop and qualify welding procedures, support production, and drive weld quality improvements.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in welding or related field, 3+ years in manufacturing welding, and knowledge of AWS D1.1 and ASME IX; CWEng and SolidWorks are a plus. Salary range $80,000–$120,000, on-site.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in welding within manufacturing.
• Experience with welding codes and quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) per codes and client specs.
• Provide technical support to production, quality, and engineering teams.
• Conduct root cause analysis on welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Evaluate welding processes and equipment for manufacturability and cost.
• Oversee welder qualification and certification programs.
• Collaborate with design engineers to optimize welds for manufacturability.
