Job summary

Qualified candidates bring a Bachelor's in Welding Engineering or related field, 5+ years of welding experience, and a CWI certification or equivalent. Knowledge of GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW and NDT methods is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of various welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their applications.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Experience with NDT methods and quality control procedures for welded components.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry codes and standards.
• Provide technical expertise and support for welding-related issues in production.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
• Evaluate and recommend new welding technologies, equipment, and consumables.
• Conduct welder performance qualifications (WPQ) and training.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to optimize weldment designs for manufacturability.
