Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer in Montague, MI to lead welding programs and drive process improvements. You will develop, qualify, and implement welding procedures, collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, and help ensure product quality across projects.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 3+ years of welding experience (GMAW/GTAW/SMAW/FCAW), familiarity with NDT and quality systems, and the potential for CWEng certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of welding processes experience (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and material science as applied to welding.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Experience with NDT methods and quality control for welded components.
• CWEng certification preferred.
• SolidWorks CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and implement welding procedures (WPS) and specifications.
• Provide technical expertise and support for welding processes and equipment in manufacturing.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects and non-conformances.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding consumables, materials, and equipment.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to optimize weldability and product quality.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for welding operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Develop and deliver training programs for welders and manufacturing personnel on welding techniques and quality standards.
