Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Coating Assistant to set up and operate coating machines, applying adhesive to release liners and substrates. The role covers both wet and dry ends and requires maintaining a cleanroom-like environment and safe, efficient operation.

You will assist the coating team, perform changeovers, data entry, and inventory checks, participate in routine maintenance, and ensure ISO procedures are followed. Friday–Sunday shifts 6:00am–6:00pm with teamwork and continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Fluency in English both verbal and written, basic math and reading skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to accurately use all measuring devices.
• Must have good computer skills for data entry.

Responsibilities

• Clean coating machine for process preparation to ensure product quality.
• Prepare raw materials (adhesive, solvents, additives, and liners) for use at the machine; use material handling equipment as needed.
• Enter data into the computer system and ensure inventory accuracy for each job.
• Set up and operate the wet or dry end of the coating machine and associated functions.
• Assist the coating team with machine operation, changeovers, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Prepare materials for subsequent jobs and communicate shift activities during handover.
• Lift and position pumps into a drum of adhesive (pump weighs 32 lbs.).
• Ensure safety, quality, and efficiency; follow ISO procedures and participate in continuous improvement.
