Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Coating Operator to set up and run coating machines, applying adhesive to liners and substrates in a clean environment. You will handle wet and dry ends, monitor quality, and maintain inventory accuracy.

The role requires basic math, English fluency, and a high school diploma. Training covers equipment, safety, ISO procedures, and teamwork to improve manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Sets up coating machine using measuring instruments to obtain specified mill thickness of adhesive and coated width.
• Activates and properly sets pressure, tension, and temperature dials, buttons, and gauges to start and operate machine according to work order parameters.
• Maintain product quality within run/process sheets; visually inspects materials and adhesive for defects and flags non-conformance.
• Requires fluency in English (verbal and written), basic math and reading skills, mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Cleans coating machine and prepares materials for coating per process instructions.
• Prepares raw materials (adhesive, solvents, additives, liners) for coating at the assigned machine.
• Moves materials using material handling equipment and observes safe lifting practices.
• Ensures correct setup and operation of wet and dry end, including changeovers and routine maintenance.
• Communicates shift activities and documents production data for inventory accuracy.
• Trains new operators and assists with housekeeping and safety compliance.
