Job summary

HDR, a global engineering and professional services firm, seeks a WTEM Business Class Director to lead wastewater treatment and effluent management programs. The role will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risk, and drive technical excellence across HDR’s Water Business Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of related field experience.
• Registration as a professional engineer/architect required for leadership.
• Experience leading diverse teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Coordinate with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead risk management through process reviews and advisory services.
• Drive QA/QC processes with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development of tools, standards, and techniques for quality and efficiency.
• Assign staff to projects and manage workload allocation.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and leadership.
• Lead applied research engagements to advance WTEM capabilities.
• Maintain relationships with university programs for workforce development.
• Mentor technical leaders and ensure HDR representation in industry.
