Job summary

HDR is seeking a WTEM Business Class Director to lead HDR's wastewater treatment and effluent management programs. You will direct technical staff, coordinate with market sectors and operations, and oversee risk management, quality control, and staff development across HDR’s network.

The role requires working with HDR leaders across business classes, and advancing HDR’s wastewater practice through industry engagement and project oversight. Location is flexible within HDR’s U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional registration (Architecture/Engineering) preferred for leadership roles.
• Must work cooperatively with HDR leaders across functions and geographies.
• Committed to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead risk management through process and resource reviews and claims prevention.
• Drive QA/QC processes and align with Quality Manager.
• Oversee development and application of tools, standards and techniques to enhance service quality.
• Assign qualified staff to projects and optimize workload sharing.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and leadership teams.
• Lead research engagement to advance WTEM capabilities and standards.
• Build relationships with university programs for workforce development and recruiting.
