Job summary

HDR seeks a WTEM Business Class Director who will lead the wastewater and effluent management program within HDR’s Water Business Group. The role includes strategic direction, risk management, and coordinating across market sectors, operations and clients to deliver complex projects.

Based in the United States with significant travel, the director will mentor technical leaders, foster industry relationships, and champion HDR’s employee-owned culture and quality standards across multiple offices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or closely related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in a related field.
• Professional or Architecture/Engineering registration for leadership roles.
• Experience building and managing diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other business class directors and managers.
• Commitment to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the Business Class.
• Build relations with related business classes, sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management, advisory services, and claims prevention on projects.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development of tools, standards, and techniques to improve service quality.
• Oversee staff assignments and effective use of worksharing.
• Collaborate with market sector directors on strategic plans and input to leadership.
• Lead applied research strategy and engagement with professional organizations.
• Mentor technical leaders and oversee staff performance and development.
• Support client development and project pursuits within HDR.
