Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Dispatcher in Nelsonville, OH to coordinate driver routes and respond to customer service requests. You will dispatch work orders, monitor GPS, and resolve service issues to ensure timely, safe pickups for residential, commercial, and roll-off lines.

The role requires strong map-reading and communication skills, ability to manage high call volumes, and a detail-oriented multitasker capable of handling multiple duties in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of service area and ability to read maps
• Professional communication in voice and written form
• Experience handling high call volumes
• Organized and detail oriented with multitasking ability
• AS400 experience is a plus and Windows/MS Office proficiency

Responsibilities

• Dispatch work orders to drivers via radio or phone to serve customer sites
• Provide dispatch coverage for other lines of business as needed
• Answer incoming calls from customers, CS and sales, and take appropriate action
• Troubleshoot and resolve service, pickup and delivery issues
• Assist management with daily activities of route drivers and ensure routes are completed
• Assign live loads to drivers based on routes or locations
• Enter data into computer system and monitor drivers via GPS (GeoTab)
• Act as emergency contact for drivers and coordinate with maintenance
• Manage missed stops by coordinating with customers and staff
• Ensure DOT paperwork and route sheets are maintained and updated
