Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle and lead cargo throughout import and export operations.
• Follow safety rules, wear a safety vest, and report safety issues or property damage.
• Transfer and move cargo within warehouse and airport facilities.
• Check documentation for priority breakdown and special handling requirements.
• Unload, verify, document, separate, placard, and store import cargo.
• Perform import-cargo inventories and generate export post-flight on-hand lists.
• Receive and verify export cargo piece counts, weights, dimensions, damage, destinations, and carriers.
• Process import deliveries accurately using delivery authorization documents.
• Load and secure export cargo in carrier Unit Load Devices using nets and tie-down equipment.
• Build cargo configurations compatible with carrier aircraft.
• Maintain housekeeping in warehouse, maintenance, and ramp areas.
• Communicate material and equipment needs and report defective or disabled equipment.
• Operate forklifts after completing required certification training.
• Inspect equipment before and after use.
• Enforce warehouse security and challenge people without airport ID badges.
• Complete assigned WFS and regulatory-agency training.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand English


• Ability to lift and carry freight weighing up to 75 lbs.


• Ability to tolerate moderate to loud workplace noise


• Ability to work in cold storage areas


• Ability to stand for up to 3 hours without sitting


• Ability to pass required WFS and regulatory-agency training


• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and mathematics


• Knowledge of airline codes, prefixes, and common cargo abbreviations


• Comprehension of airway bills


• Ability to follow supervisor instructions and work effectively as a team member


• Must maintain fitness for duty without impairment due to illegal drugs, sleep deprivation, medication, or alcohol
