Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a dependable warehouse associate in Windsor Locks, CT to load/unload air freight, move containers, and assist cross-dock operations. You will operate ramp equipment, read load sheets, and communicate with the cockpit during push-back procedures, while maintaining safety in an open-air facility.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, forklift experience, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or international equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's license.
• 1-year forklift experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and holidays.
• Peak Season (November-December) may require longer hours.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language.
• Ability to understand and react to verbal commands and safety warnings, with and without, assistance of sight or visual aids.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to judge distances.
• Ability to successfully communicate with others.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, multiple times a day.
• Ability to work in hot and cold temperatures, rain, wind and snow.
• Ability to stand for an entire shift and move long distances across facilities by foot.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload air freight containers from aircraft within confined areas.
• Move containers from airplanes to trucks for on-time delivery.
• Transport, push, pull and position loaded air freight containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs.
• Read off-load sheets to determine Express package destinations.
• Operate ramp equipment with gross weights of 3,000 to 80,000 lbs in congested areas.
• Position vehicles up to aircraft.
• Engage in aircraft push-out by driving an 80,000 lb vehicle or guiding the driver.
• Move Express packages from aircraft to warehouse to trucks in cross-dock operation with minimal storage.
• Work in an open-air, non-temperature-controlled facility and around aircraft.

• Engage in aircraft push-out by driving an 80,000 lb vehicle or assisting as a guide to the driver
