Job summary

Jobtailor in Aurora, IL is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to coordinate daily warehouse operations, oversee receiving and shipping, and mentor associates on SOPs. You will ensure accuracy in paperwork, supervise MHE use, and uphold safety, ISO and OSHA/OSDS standards while driving productivity.

The role requires forklift certification, experience with RF scanners, and the ability to lift 21–50 lb. Evening/weekend hours and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
1 year of experience in logistics, distribution, or related environment.
Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE).
Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures in seasons.
Forklift training completion and active certification.
RF scanner proficiency and basic computer skills.
WMS familiarity and accuracy in inventory counts.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee daily warehouse operational activities.

Assist with scheduling and workforce planning.
Ensure schedules and assignments are implemented and completed.

Coordinate and oversee assigned daily warehouse operational activities
Oversee associates involved in warehousing, receiving, and shipping operations
Mentor and train new and existing associates on distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures
Assist with forklift operation and certification
Coordinate unloading inbound shipments, stacking product, picking, and staging outbound shipments
Verify inbound and outbound paperwork and product counts
Load orders according to designated doors and trailers
Research shipping and receiving discrepancies
Communicate professionally with customers by phone, electronically, or in person
Prepare activity reports for site management
Perform quality control checks, report damages and discrepancies, and stack, package, shrink-wrap, and label products
Report inconsistencies and problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager
Participate in quality and safety meetings
Execute safety protocols and comply with ISO, OSHA/MSDS, corporate, site-specific, and SOP requirements
Maintain warehouse cleanliness, orderly work areas, and warehouse security
Direct warehouse work-team operations and assist with productivity and payroll-hour records
Assist the Supervisor with workforce levels and participate in establishing work schedules
Ensure schedules and job assignments are effectively implemented and completed
Initiate action and recommend solutions for product, process, and quality-system nonconformities
Operate and maintain material-handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, cherry pickers, and related equipment
Inspect equipment daily and perform minor maintenance; report equipment problems
Perform or assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
1 year of experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment
Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE)
Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures during warmer and colder months
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
Basic computer skills
RF scanner proficiency
WMS functions
English reading, writing, and verbal skills
Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and counting inventory
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all organizational levels
Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred: 2–4 years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment
Preferred: 2–4 years’ proven forklift experience
Preferred: current or prior MHE certification
Must maintain an active forklift certification
