Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days off.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to judge distances.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather.
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must join the Transport Workers Union (TWU) and pay union dues.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload cargo weighing up to 80 lbs on/off aircraft within confined cargo areas.
  • Lift, push, pull, and position containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs on rollers to/from aircraft.
  • Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft using a 3,000 lb vehicle and attached carts.
  • Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations.
  • Perform aircraft push-out and towing functions.
  • Communicate with the cockpit using hand signals and voice commands, with or without sight or visual aids.
  • Receive, deliver, and handle freight at express docks and complete required forms.

Job description

  • Load and unload cargo weighing up to 80 lbs. on and off aircraft within confined cargo areas
  • Lift, push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers to and from aircraft
  • Transport cargo between terminals and aircraft using a 3,000 lb. vehicle and attached carts
  • Read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations
  • Perform aircraft push-out and towing functions
  • Communicate with the cockpit using hand signals and voice commands, with or without sight or visual aids
  • Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company materials at designated express docks
  • Complete forms and messages necessary for assigned functions
  • Identify, question, and report unauthorized personnel or security breaches
  • Comply with the WFS site security plan
  • Report to work regularly and on time
