Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across the operation, leveraging data analytics, lean tools, and engineering methods.

You will lead cross-functional CI projects, coach teams, and interface with management to deliver improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The role may supervise CI engineering and quality professionals, participate in hiring decisions, and report to the CI Manager/Sr.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of related work experience in Warehousing, Transportation, or Manufacturing
• Experience with Lean tools, Quality Assurance, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Data visualization skills (PowerBI/Tableau) desirable
• Proficiency with Excel/Access/Visio
• Experience with regulatory compliance and QMS is a plus

Responsibilities

• Collects data, performs statistical analysis, maps processes, and identifies gaps to drive CI plans
• Leads high impact CI projects across the operation to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth
• Coaches teams in lean methods and sustains improvements through Kaizen events and Value Stream Maps
• Supports start-ups, retrofits, and expansions with pricing inputs, go-live, and certifications
• Interacts with account management and customers to implement CI initiatives
• Provides regular data reports to measure progress against site objectives and makes strategy recommendations
