Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Lead Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive data-driven CI across operations. You will identify, lead and execute lean projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth, leveraging analytics and best-practice tools.

You will mentor teams, manage CI initiatives and report progress to site leadership while interfacing with Operations Directors and Account Managers to deliver measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing; or Master's in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain with 5+ years; MBA requires undergrad in Engineering.
• 7+ years in related warehousing/transportation and/or manufacturing industry.
• Microsoft Office Suitewith emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio. Expert
• Data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX) Intermediate
• Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems and Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S/Workplace Organization Intermediate
• Advanced knowledge in core engineering and data analysis: slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, metrics.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and perform statistical analysis; map processes; identify gaps and implement CI plans to drive value.
• Manage high-impact CI projects across the operation and support start-ups, retrofits and expansions with pricing inputs and go-live activities.
• Coach employees in lean methods; facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; lead cross-functional projects to sustained results.
• Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against site objectives and supply chain strategy.
• May supervise CI engineers and QA professionals; participate in hiring and performance management with guidance from management.
